Deciding on a early childhood centre for your family is such an important decision, if you are in the process of making this choice and wondering if our centre is the right fit for you and your family, why not book a tour to visit our centre and meet our team. We will provide you with an information pack and answer any questions you may have while we show you around our centre.

  • Does City Heights offer 20 hours ECE?
    Yes. We are part of the Ministry Of Education Scheme offering 20 Hours ECE to families.
  • What ages of children does City Heights accept?
    We are well staffed and resourced to offer care and education to children from 4 months to 6 years of age.
  • Is there a minumum amount of hours that I have to enrol my child for?
    We feel there is a minimum amount of time children need to gain the consistency they need to feel safe and confident in our environment and within our teaching team. Children under 1 enrol for a minimum of 12 hours per week, minimum of 3 days per week. Children under 3 enrol for a minimum of 18 hours per week, minimum of 3 days per week. Children over 3 enrol for a minimum of 24 hours per week, minimum of 4 days per week. Do not hesitate to let us know what your needs are so we can make sure we cater to your family dynamics.
  • Do you provide meals in house?
    Yes. We are proud to have an A grade kitchen and our own chef. Our chef cooks a wide range of fresh nutritious meals every day, including a hot lunch, morning and afternoon snacks catering to most dietary requirements. Our menus follow the requirements of the Heart Foundation and Ministry of Health and Ministry of education regulations. We charge a fee of $8.50 daily for meals. If your child has any food allergies or requirement please let us know at the enrolment process.
  • What about if my child has a medical condition?
    At City Heights we keep up to date with all allergies or medical conditions and their corresponding emergency procedures for each child. These are discussed with the child's teachers at the time of your child’s induction.
  • How parents keep up to date with what is happening at the centre ?
    Parents receive communication via emails or via EDUCA. If you have not provided an email address you will find communication letters and learning progressions in your child's pocket at the entry of our centre. We also use Facebook to keep parents updated on day to day happenings at City Heights.
  • Will I get reports on my child's progress ?
    At City Heights we have an open-door policy so any parent can request a parent teachers interview at any time. You will receive your child’s learning progressions reports via EDUCA and also via our semestral learning evaluations.
  • Does City Heights close for school holidays ?
    No. City Heights remains open during school holidays. We only close on statuory holidays.
  • Does City Heights hold an absence and/or holiday fee?
    You will be charged full fee if your child does not attend the centre in a day they are booked. We offer 3 weeks per year (pro rata) at 50% rate when you go on holidays. We require at least one full weeks notice. After the holiday fee days run out you will return to full fee.
  • Does City Heights charge an enrolment fee?
    Yes. Our enrolment fee is $60 to cover enrolment processing and space reservation. This is non-refundable.
  • Does City Heights take children on field trips?
    Yes, trips out of the centre are part of our programme, especially for our senior community. You will be requested a consent and informed of every detail.
